Public Union goes to far

I have been a union worker almost my entire life, I support unions, but I also know that Unions can go too far.  When this happens, the steels Industry goes down, the auto worker gets too big and they go down.  Unions have a lot to be proud of, 5 day week, 40 hour week, child labor and much, much more.  But it seems that once that was won, the bosses had to do more and more to justify there ever rising dues.  In the private area, if the unions ask for too much, and the business gives in, eventually that will destroy them.  As in my former profession, our contract grew year after year until finally concession had to be made.
In the public unions, there has never been a worry of a city, county, state, or country going out of business.  So as you will read next, this is what it becomes.  You need more for a garbage man, raise taxes.  More for Police, Fire Fighters, teachers, again raise taxes.  These unions were important when they first came on the scene.  But now, like their private sector cohorts, they need to get more and more until one day, we wake up and see that what they have done is destroying the workers they have attempted to protect.  Government is not a business, they do not make money, and they only collect from you and me.  Now, read this next paragraph and see what it has come too.
In New York City a union teacher gets paid for a full time position, teaches one class, leaves for the day, then goes to his union hall and works for the union, which he gets paid for. (Edelman, 2011) http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/union_classic_le_en_jrQKCmKdjWQbMAtzqHASxI
In the meantime, New York has to pay for a substitute teacher to do his work.  That is just wrong.  And the dumb citizens of New York pay for it with the highest taxes in the country.   An example given for this was a high school English teacher gets paid 100.000 dollars a year.  During the week he teaches one class on a given day, leaves for his union job where he gets paid 54,000 a year.(FoxNews.com)  Somebody please defend this!
Don’t believe this, check it out on your own.
